Brazilian winger joins on free transfer

Bologna have signed Brazilian winger Cesar on a free transfer following his release by Inter Milan. The 34-year-old, who has also spent time at Lazio, Livorno and Corinthians, has been on the lookout for a new club since the end of last summer. New Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic played with Cesar at Lazio and worked with him last season when he was an assistant coach at Inter. Mihajlovic has now brought Cesar to Renato Dall'Ara and will assess the veteran's fitness before deciding when to include him. "Bologna FC would like to communicate that we have reached an agreement to sign Brazilian winger Aparecido Cesar Rodriguez, born in Sao Paulo on October 24 1974," read a statement on the club's official website. "Cesar played for Inter last season and he was at Livorno and Corinthians before that on loan." Bologna have picked up two draws since Mihajlovic's appointment but remain in the bottom three.
