United manager to miss Blackburn and Sunderland games

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been given a two-match touchline ban and fined £10,000 by the Football Association. The punishment comes after Ferguson was found guilty of improper conduct following his row with referee Mike Dean. The argument occurred immediately after the final whistle of United's 4-3 win over Hull City at Old Trafford as Ferguson stormed onto the pitch to confront Dean. Ferguson was unhappy with the referee's decision to award the visitors a penalty and for failing to produce a yellow card for Hull defender Michael Turner's tackle on Michael Carrick. Ferguson will miss United's home games against Blackburn in the Carling Cup on 3rd December and Sunderland three days later.
