Manager in demand as he continues to shine at Bordeaux

Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud has spoken of his desire to keep manager Laurent Blanc at the club. The former French defender is in demand after getting his side into this year's UEFA Champions League, where they face Chelsea on Wednesday in a game being shown live on Sky Sports Xtra. The 43-year-old has already received an offer from German side Bayer Leverkusen but Triand hopes Blanc will stay with Les Girondins. The chairman believes he could attract better offers in the future if he stays and continues to do well with the French side.

Wish

He told Le 10 Sport: "We wish to keep Laurent. He prefers to negotiate at the end of his contract (next June). But I won't wait until May. We are forecasted to meet again at the end of the year or early in January. "Laurent has already achieved two beautiful seasons at Bordeaux. Of course, he will have nice propositions, as like the one from Bayer Leverkusen. "But if he stays three or four years with the same results, those propositions could come from Manchester, Barcelona or Madrid. "Maybe his interest is to get more experience at Bordeaux, to have more choices in a few years." Blanc himself has spoken of his desire to stay at the club, saying: "We have to talk about it."
