Yakubu Aiyegbeni is backing himself to fire Everton into the race for a top four finish.
The Nigerian striker saw a lengthy barren spell in front of goal come to an end when he found the target against Middlesbrough.
With that pressure now lifted from his shoulders the African ace is confident that he can get his season up and running.
Having scored 21 times in all competitions during the last campaign he is expected to spearhead Everton's European push this term.
However, the 26-year-old remains relaxed, maintaining unwavering faith in his ability to remain a consistent goal-getter.
"It was nine games since I scored and now I want to start banging the goals in," Yakubu told the
Liverpool Daily Post.
"For me, the confidence is there. When I start scoring, I don't want to stop.
"As a striker, you keep working. You don't have to be anxious, you just try to keep it in your head that the goals will come."

Yakubu's momentary loss of form coincided with a slow start to the season by the whole club.
However, David Moyes' men are now up into seventh on the back of a five-match unbeaten run.
"The mood is good and everyone is so pleased with the results," added Yakubu.
"In the beginning of the season we were up and down. There was some pretty poor games but we've been getting better.
"We have more to come. It's almost Christmas now and we have to be picking up points.
"In football sometimes it can be a bit up and down. Some of the injured players are back, we have signed some new players.
"It is better, the spirit is good, we're all together and everyone's happy. We're getting the results but we have to keep pushing."
