Fifa have reduced the 12-month suspension handed down to Serbian defender Slobodan Rajkovic.
The 19-year-old was handed the sentence in September for allegedly spitting at match official Abdullah Al Hilali during the Beijing Olympics football tournament.
The incident occurred during a group game against Argentina, but the youngster has always pleaded his innocence and will be delighted by the latest ruling.
Fifa have now decided that Rajkovic is free to resume domestic duties with immediate effect, but have partially upheld his sentence by barring him from international competition at any level.
The new ruling was agreed by Fifa's appeal panel, after the Chelsea defender had challenged the initial ruling.
The teenager is currently on loan at Eredivisie side FC Twente, having previously spent time away from Stamford Bridge at PSV Eindhoven and OFK Beograd.
The Blues paid 5.2million euros (£4.4million) to sign Rajkovic from Serbian outfit OFK in November 2005, but he is yet to make an appearance for the Premier League leaders.
