Chelsea scouting director linked with new role

Frank Arnesen has expressed his desire to take charge of the Denmark national team, amid mounting speculation that he could be set to leave Chelsea. Reports have suggested that Arnesen, the director of scouting and youth development at Stamford Bridge, could be axed in the near future. Roman Abramovich has a good relationship with Arnesen but it is understood that the Russian owner has ordered huge savings to be made at the club. Arnesen, who has struggled to deliver on his promises of bringing through youth-team players, is now looking to the future. He has been linked with the Denmark job and admits he would be keen to take up the role. "To head the national football team of one's own country would be an honour," Arnesen said in The Sun. "A serious offer from the Danish FA would make me consider my future."
