Toffees looking to extend defender's deal
David Moyes has hinted Everton will look to open contract talks with long-serving defender Joseph Yobo in the near future.
The Nigeria international, who has endured an up and down season with The Toffees, is now back to his best form, according to Moyes.
Yobo has one-and-a-half years left on his Goodison Park contract but Everton have no plans to lose him come the summer of 2010.
"Joey Yobo has improved in the last month or so and he's come back on to his game again," said Moyes. "He had a start to the season that was really mixed.
Recovery
"We gave them a month off to recover and when they came back Joey had the situation with his brother having been kidnapped.
"He was off for longer than the other but we had to put him in the team because we had no players.
"He wasn't in the right condition physically and certainly not in the right condition mentally.
"He's got himself focused now and he's been playing more like himself.
"Joe's been part of what we've been doing here so we'd like to keep him."
