Stuttgart win as Bochum and Dortmund held at home

Hamburg came from behind to secure a draw at Bochum as Stuttgart overcame Schalke at home. Lowly Bochum appeared to be on course for a much-needed win before being pegged back in a 1-1 draw at home to Hamburg. Bochum took the lead six minutes before half-time when Stanislav Sestak smashed a firm shot high into the net. Substitute Ivica Olic drew Hamburg level 20 minutes from time as he pounced after Mladen Petric's shot had been saved. The hosts could have won it seven minutes from time, but Sestak's shot came back off the post.

Sloppy display

Stuttgart shrugged off a sloppy first-half display to claim a 2-0 win at home over Schalke. Jermaine Jones hit the post for the visitors on 12 minutes and Jefferson Farfan then saw his penalty saved four minutes later. Home substitute Jan Simak fired into the top corner on 79 minutes, just five minutes after coming on, before Mario Gomez sealed the points on 83 minutes. Borussia Dortmund stay in sixth spot in the table after an uneventful 0-0 draw at home to Wolfsburg.
