Defender looking to impress Strachan
Celtic have taken Norwegian defender Erlend Hanstveit on trial.
The Brann Bergen full-back will spend a week training with Gordon Strachan's first-team as he bids to win a move to Parkhead.
The 27-year-old is available on a free transfer and if he impresses on trial he be brought in to solve Celtic's problematic left-back spot.
Hanstveit has been offered a new deal at Brann, but he is waiting to see if he can win a move to the Scottish champions.
"I was invited over here to train with Celtic for a week, so we will see how it goes before it eventually becomes something concrete," Hanstveit told the
Evening Times.
With the departure of Bergen coach Mons Ivar Mjelde and the appointment of
former Tromso boss Steinar Nilsen, Hanstveit is ready to sort out his future.
"Now the pieces fall into place and it will make it easier to decide," added Hanstveit.
"The new coach will be in place at Bergen in January, and it is likely I will
make my decision about my future before the new year.
"Whatever happens, my relationship with Bergen will remain fine."
