Striker returns to Ashton Gate after calf injury

Bristol City striker Steve Brooker has been forced to cut short his loan spell at Doncaster due to injury. Brooker, who scored on his debut against Watford last weekend after arriving on a month's loan, picked up a calf injury in training. The 27-year-old has now returned to Ashton Gate to receive treatment and he is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks. Robins boss Gary Johnson revealed he will hold talks with Rovers chief Sean O'Driscoll about Brooker's fitness before any decision is made on his future. "It's obviously disappointing news for everyone concerned. We are in discussions with Doncaster as to the best way forward," Johnson told the club's official website.
