Midfielder faces late fitness test

Harry Redknapp admits he is keen to see Luka Modric back to full fitness to give him more options. Modric, who has been sidelined for two weeks with a groin injury, is hoping to resume training ahead of Monday's trip to West Ham. Should the Croatian midfielder return to action, he could be used in a free role behind either Darren Bent or Roman Pavlyuchenko. Speaking ahead of the daunting trip to Upton Park, Redknapp admitted he would like to see Modric back to action sooner rather than later.

Options

"I'd like to get him fit because he gives us a different option," Redknapp said. "He plays in that hole and is clever. He can knit the game together for you. I hope he's okay."
