Russian happy with Bent partnership

Roman Pavlyuchenko has urged Tottenham to sign Russia team-mate Andrei Arshavin in the January transfer window. Arshavin was strongly linked with a move to White Hart Lane in the summer, but the deal failed to materialise. The classy schemer is keen to secure a move away from Zenit St Petersburg and a number of clubs are expected to make a bid for his services when the transfer window reopens. Pavlyuchenko admits he would like to see Tottenham swoop for Arshavin as he would be interested in extending his international strike partnership to club level. Asked whether he would appreciate Arshavin's arrival in January, Pavlyuchenko told the London Evening Standard: "Yes, of course I would like that. "I haven't spoken to Arshavin myself, although I know there have been discussions about him moving to another club. All I know is that Arshavin wants to join another good European team." Pavlyuchenko has started to find his feet at Spurs after a slow start to life in North London following his summer switch from Spartak Moscow. The 26-year-old has scored seven goals so far this season and he believes his partnership with Darren Bent is improving. "It is too early to judge the partnership [with Bent], but in practice matches, we pass a lot to each other, and we seem to able to find our game," added Pavlyuchenko.
