Forest v Sheff Utd preview

Nottingham Forest will be hoping their recent resurgence continues when they tackle Sheffield United.

Improving Reds out to blunt the Blades

Nottingham Forest will be hoping their recent resurgence continues when they tackle Sheffield United on Tuesday. The Reds remain firmly entrenched in the Championship relegation zone, but have lost only one of their last seven to hand boss Colin Calderwood a stay of execution and ease the tension sweeping around Trentside. The Blades, meanwhile, have won just one of their last four second tier outings to see their play-off place come under threat.

Forest team news

Calderwood is boosted by the return of jet-heeled front-man Nathan Tyson ahead of the crunch clash. The 26-year-old missed the 2-2 draw with Coventry at the weekend due to a one-match ban but is pushing for an immediate return to the starting line-up. Defender Julian Bennett returned for the reserves last week after eight weeks out with a broken collarbone and will be hoping for at least a place on the bench. James Perch and Wes Morgan did not train on Sunday after picking up knocks at the Ricoh Arena but both are expected to recover in time to face the Blades. Midfielder Chris Cohen came through the Coventry clash unscathed following his return from an ankle injury and is expected to keep his place in the side.
Blades team news
Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell has hinted at "making one change" for his side's trip to the City Ground. Blackwell, who has no new injury or suspension problems as the Blades look to bounce back from Saturday's home defeat to Burnley, was giving little away with regards to team selection. Gary Speed remains a doubt due to the back problem that has kept him out of the last two matches, so Matthew Spring will continue in his absence. Striker Anthony Stokes, on loan from Sunderland, returned to the squad on Saturday and stepped off the bench for the last half-hour. The Republic of Ireland international had been left out at Charlton after returning late from international duty. David Cotterill and Darius Henderson, also second-half substitutes against Burnley, and defender Ugo Ehiogu are pushing for returns to the starting line-up.
