City midfielder looking to capitalise on hectic schedule

Vincent Kompany is taking a positive approach to the club's hectic Premier League schedule over the Christmas period. The former Hamburg midfielder usually has the winter off, with the Bundesliga shutting down during the coldest part of the year. City have no such luck, with Mark Hughes' side playing three games in a week, starting with West Brom on 21st December. Kompany knows City are floundering at the wrong end of the table and believes the games coming thick and fast is the ideal time to shoot up the standings.

Consecutive wins required

"We need to get three or four wins in a row, then we are going to see what this team can achieve," the former Hamburg player told the club's official website. "I'm pleased because the more games I have the more I enjoy my life as a footballer. I'm looking forward to whatever comes up soon. "I'm aiming for us to get some wins. I have experienced it before and I know that when you do start winning like this then anything is possible, so we'll have to work hard to achieve that. "We all know how close it is now; if you lose a game people look at the bottom three, if you win everybody dreams of getting into Europe again."
