New Real Madrid coach Juande Ramos is hopeful Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League victory will help boost his charges ahead of 'El Clasico'. Ramos was hastily appointed as Bernd Schuster's successor this week after the German coach paid the price for a poor beginning to the Primera Divison season. Former Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla boss Ramos got his Real tenure off to a winning start as his charges disposed of Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 in Group H. And the Spaniard was pleased with the performance ahead of Saturday's crunch league game against bitter rivals Barcelona. He said: "To obtain a victory, in a match where the points aren't important, is very positive. "The qualification was already assured, so we had to win. I'm very happy with the performance of my players. This victory will be very good for improving the team's morale. "Every player worked hard to give a good impression, they showed a great attitude, wanted to play well and please the fans."
