Terriers looking to impress new boss

Southend provide the opposition for Gerry Murphy's final game in caretaker charge of Huddersfield. The Shrimpers have slipped out of the play-off picture in recent weeks after failing to win any of their last five League One fixtures. Huddersfield, meanwhile, have won four of their last five and will head to Roots Hall brimming with confidence and hoping to make a positive impression on incoming boss Lee Clark.

Southend team news

Southend manager Steve Tilson could include veteran forward Dougie Freedman in his squad. The 34-year-old striker picked up a hamstring injury in mid-October and has been on the sidelines ever since, but has made himself available for the match at Roots Hall although he may have to settle for a place on the bench. Lee Barnard is also pressing his claims as he closes in a return to full fitness having missed the last 10 matches with hamstring and calf problems, but fellow front-man Paul Furlong is still out with a thigh injury. Tilson must decide whether to stick with on-loan West Ham striker Junior Stanislas and Alex Revell in attack or gamble on the fitness of Freedman and Barnard. Liam Feeney will hope to make his full Football League debut having joined on loan from non-league Salisbury - appearing off the bench in the 3-0 defeat to Leicester last time out.
Huddersfield team news
Huddersfield caretaker-manager Murphy is not expected to make any changes ahead of Saturday's encounter. The Terriers have appointed Clark and assistant Derek Fazackerley as their new management team but they will not be in the dugout at Roots Hall. Keigan Parker sits out the last game of his three-match ban and fellow striker Andy Booth continues his rehabilitation following back surgery. Full-back Joe Skarz missed last week's home win over Walsall due to an ankle injury and is not ready to return. But, midfielder Michael Collins is hoping to maintain his impressive recent goalscoring record after firing four in his last five games.
