Chelsea midfielder keen to face former club
Deco has admitted it would be a special moment for him if Chelsea are drawn to face Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.
Having finished as runners-up in their group, Barcelona are potential opponents for Chelsea in the last 16.
The Blues will find out on Friday who they must face and most fans will be keen to avoid Barcelona, who have been in scintillating form this season.
However, Deco insists he would relish the chance to return to Camp Nou after spending much of his career with the Catalan giants.
"If we have to play against Barcelona, for me it would be special because I was there for four years," Deco told the
Sunday Mirror.
"But now I'm Chelsea and I just want us to win whatever happens.
"We don't know yet if we will play them. But if we want to go far in the tournament it's always likely we'll meet them if not now then in the semi-finals or even the final.
"It would be interesting, but now I'm at Chelsea I fight for Chelsea."
Happy
Deco's form has dipped after a splendid start to the season but he maintains that he is enjoying life in London.
The Portuguese midfielder is also satisfied with how Chelsea are playing but realises it will take a considerable improvement to advance in the Champions League.
He said: "I'm happy to be here. Barcelona was important in my life but now it's different.
"If I have to play against Barcelona I will play like I do in every game.
"I'm very happy at Chelsea and I think we are going well.
"I agree we need to play even better to progress, but I think we will."
