Cherries skipper remains focused despite Wolves interest

Bournemouth captain Shaun Cooper is not letting transfer speculation linking him with a move away from the club affect his performances. The utility man has been watched on a number of occasions, most recently on Saturday in the Cherries' draw with Rochdale, reportedly by Championship leaders Wolves. But with Bournemouth facing a tricky FA Cup second round replay away at Conference North side Blyth Spartans on Tuesday, Cooper insists he remains focused. The 25-year-old rejected the chance to join League One side Crewe after Bournemouth's relegation into League Two last season but Cooper admitted that he is not seeking a move away from The Fitness First stadium.

Speculation

"Someone told me there was something in the paper about Wolves but you read these things all the time and I don't let it affect me," Cooper told the Daily Echo. "I've heard things in the past but nothing has ever come of them. It doesn't bother me and I don't even think about it. "I just want to do well for Bournemouth and to help us get safe. I was close to going in the summer, even though I didn't really want to. "Speculation doesn't really mean anything to me and if, I were to go, it would have to be something too good to refuse because I love it here and want to stay if I can."
