Peter Lovenkrands has expressed his desire to leave Schalke in the January transfer window.
The Danish winger has not been able to hold down a regular place in the Schalke side this season.
He has fallen out of favour with his national team as a result and is keen to move on from Schalke in the New Year.
Lovenkrands told
Onside.dk: "I need to leave in order to be picked by the national side again.
"I can see no reason to stay here when I am not playing and I am hoping for a new club."
Lovenkrands has been linked with a return to former club Rangers, while Fulham have also been credited with an interest.
However, he would not reveal if there had been any concrete offers as yet.
He said: "I cannot comment upon that."
