Felipe Caicedo is determined to make the most of his chance and keep his place in the Man City side.
City striker knew he would get an opportunity under Hughes
Felipe Caicedo is determined to make the most of his opportunity and keep his place in the Manchester City side.
The Ecuador striker has struggled to have an impact at City since joining the Premier League club in a £5million deal from Basel in January.
However, he has come to the fore over the past week after scoring against Racing Santander in the Uefa Cup and then being involved in City's goal against West Bromwich Albion.
The 20-year-old then marked his first Premier League start for City by netting twice against Hull City on Boxing Day and Caicedo is out to repay manager Mark Hughes' faith.
Patient
"I am really happy, it has been a hard year for me, but I knew could make it into the first team here," Caicedo told the club's
official website.
"I have had to be patient, but I was determined to make the most of my chance when it came
"My team-mates have been very supportive of me, and I could not have got my goals without their help.
"The manager and the coaches have also shown faith in me, so I wanted to show everyone what I could do when picked.
"Training has been hard work, but it's enjoyable, and I hoped that if I kept doing well in training then I would get a chance. There are some good strikers here, but if I can get some more goals I hope to keep my place in the team."
