Blackburn striker appears to rule out possible Real switch
Roque Santa Cruz is adamant he would only leave Blackburn Rovers for one of the Ewood Park outifit's Premier League rivals.
Speculation continues to link the Paraguay striker with a January move to Manchester City, but Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest.
However, Santa Cruz - who is currently sidelined with a shin injury - has announced that, should he leave Rovers, he would ideally stay in the Premier League.
"I would like to stay in England. I like this league. It is one of the most competitive in the world," the 27-year-old told
Radio Primero de Mayo.
Of speculation surrounding his future, he added: "I have nothing to do with the offers. They are made to the club and the directors deal with them and make a decision."
Santa Cruz expects to return to action on 17th January, when Rovers play Newcastle in the Premier League.
"This weekend there are no league games, as the (FA) Cup is being played. I think I will miss the next weekend's game and be fit for the following one," he concluded.
