Yeovil game called off

Yeovil's game with Scunthorpe, scheduled for Tuesday, has been called off due to a frozen pitch.

Frozen pitch at Huish Park prompts postponement

Yeovil Town's game with Scunthorpe United, scheduled for Tuesday, has been called off due to a frozen pitch. The League One fixture was subject to a lunchtime pitch inspection on Monday following the recent freezing temperatures. With Huish Park having no covers, and the forecast for further frost, Yeovil have confirmed the game has been postponed. Scunthorpe had been due to travel down to Somerset on Monday afternoon, prompting an early decision on the game. It means Yeovil are still waiting to play their first fixture of 2009, while Scunthorpe lost 1-0 at Watford in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday. A new date for the match will be announced in due course.
