Steve Bruce has rubbished speculation linking Kris Boyd with a move to Wigan and insisted there will be no departures during the transfer window.
The Latics have agreed a deal to sign Hugo Rodallega from Necaxa and Bruce is hopeful the Colombian striker will be granted a work permit.
Rumours have suggested that Rodallega's arrival could pave the way for one of the forwards already at Wigan to leave the JJB Stadium.
Emile Heskey and Henri Camara are both in the last six months of their contracts and Amr Zaki is only on loan until the end of the season.
There has also been transfer talk regarding winger Antonio Valencia but Bruce has no intention of letting any player go this month.
Wigan have enjoyed a fine Premier League campaign so far but the Wigan boss feels he needs more depth to his squad.
He explained: "We have three strikers in Heskey, Zaki and Camara with obviously Antoine Sibierski on loan (at Norwich).
"We are a little bit light in that area but it doesn't pave the way for anyone [to leave] because in terms of numbers, I have 19 outfield players and three goalkeepers.
"If we lose two or three we are up against it but I'd rather have 23 or 24 because it's easier to handle. It doesn't pave the way for anyone to go."

Bruce claims there has been no firm interest in any of his players so far, while he was also surprised to hear that he had been linked with Boyd of Rangers.
Boyd's future appears uncertain after he failed to agree personal terms with Birmingham over a proposed switch to St Andrews, but Bruce maintains that he is not considering a swoop for the forward.
"We have had no offers for anyone. That is the story on January 9 and I hope it continues until February 9," said Bruce.
"We've heard all the tittle-tattle. I've been told this morning I've been linked with Kris Boyd at Rangers.
"It is the first I've known about it. I read he was in Birmingham yesterday so perhaps they've got me mixed up and still think I'm the Birmingham manager.
"Rodallega will be it as far as I am concerned and I hope that is it (for players) going out as well."
