Blades front-man set to make top-flight return
Sheffield United striker James Beattie could be on his way to Stoke City,
skysports.com understands.
A figure in the region of £2.5million is thought to have been agreed between the two clubs, with Beattie having visited Stoke's Britannia Stadium this week.
The one-time England cap has scored 12 goals this season, form that has seen him rumoured to be on the radar of several Premier League clubs.
Beattie has not played in the top flight since leaving Everton for Sheffield United in 2007 for a £4million fee.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has already bolstered his squad this week with the acquisition of Matthew Etherington and now appears close to adding another new face.
