Picken to make Magpies bow; Moxey back for Grecians

Phil Picken will make his debut for Notts County against Exeter, who welcome back Dean Moxey. Right-back Picken has joined the Magpies from League Two rivals Chesterfield on a month's loan and will go straight into the side after Jason Beardsley and Mitch Hanson returned to Derby following their loan spells. Fellow defender John Thompson, who made his loan spell a permanent move this week after he was released by Oldham, must serve a one-match suspension after last week's game at Aldershot was postponed. Captain Michael Johnson and striker Jamie Forrester come back into the reckoning after bans. Meanwhile, Adam Tann has returned to training ahead of schedule following a medial ligament injury. The defender has been out since mid-October and is expected to be back in contention for a first-team spot in February.

Exeter team news

Exeter are set to welcome back left-back Moxey for the trip to Meadow Lane. Moxey missed the 2-0 defeat to Brentford on 28th December through a one-match suspension and had been due to return already, but a frozen pitch at St James' Park has put paid to the home games with Port Vale and Macclesfield this week. Grecians boss Paul Tisdale will still be without centre-back Matt Taylor who is out with a badly bruised foot and is set for another two weeks on the sidelines as the Grecians look to boost their play-off hopes. They currently sit ninth in League Two, two points behind seventh-placed Rochdale but with a game in hand.
