Sheffield United have re-signed Leigh Bromby, with the defender initially joining the club on loan from Watford.
The 28-year-old spent four years at Bramall Lane between 2004 and 2008, before securing a January switch to Vicarage Road.
Bromby had left the Blades after being informed by then boss Bryan Robson that he no longer featured in his first-team plans.
However, with Kevin Blackwell now in charge at the Championship club, he has now been offered a second opportunity to become a United regular.
Ironically, his first game back with the Blades could come against Watford on Saturday - should he be selected.
The loan agreement which has been put in place is set to run until the end of the season, when United will have the option to make the move permanent for a previously arranged fee.
"I'm buzzing, delighted to be back," Bromby told the club's
official website.
"I didn't really want to leave in the first place and I've jumped at the chance to come back.
"There were other opportunities but when I heard United was in for me this was the move. I know a lot of the lads and it will be great to get re-acquainted. I've not worked with Kevin but I've heard good things.
"The team are flying at the moment but I want to get back into the team as soon as possible. The fans know what I'm about and I'd like to think that I've improved in the year I've been away."
