Potential star of the future joins Serie A club in June

Udinese have signed promising young Colombian midfielder Victor Ibarbo. The 18-year-old has signed a deal thought to be worth around $4million to join the Serie A side in June from Colombian team Atletico Nacional. Victor Marulanda, the president of Atletico Nacional, told CityTV: "The transfer of Ibarbo to Udinese must be signed in the next few days, but the player will join his new team in June. This means that he'll be with us for five more months and that is very important." Ibarbo has been picked for the Colombian Under-20 team that will play in the South American youth tournament in Venezuela, starting next week. As part of the deal, Atletico Nacional will keep 20 per cent of the transfer fee as compensation for future transfers. Marulanda said: "This is a negotiation that has been around since a year ago. We have taken the decision before starting the championship because we can keep 20 per cent of the transfer for if there is a future transfer. "We took a risk but we have also ensured something for the future."
