Video evidence proves elbow incident

AC Milan playmaker Ronaldinho has been banned for three matches after video evidence showed him elbow Lazio defender David Rozenhal. The decision came after a two-month wait for completion of evidence following Milan's 2-1 extra time win in their last-16 Italian Cup match in December. The Italian league announced the verdict upon video evidence showing that Ronaldinho was on the ball when he swung an elbow at the Lazio defender. As a result, the former World Player of the Year will miss the first match of next season's competition. Should Milan exit the Cup in the early stages, his ban will be carried over to the following season.
