Midfielder attends training camp in Dubai
Stoke City midfielder Liam Lawrence is attending the club's training camp in Dubai, cooling speculation he is set to join Derby County.
The 27-year-old has struggled to force a return to the Potters' first team following an ankle injury and rumour has suggested he could be heading for a January exit.
Championship strugglers Derby are understood to be admirers of Lawrence, who scored 14 goals as Stoke earned promotion from the second tier last season.
But City manager Tony Pulis has involved the former Sunderland player as his squad undergo a training break in the United Arab Emirates.
And when asked about reports linking Lawrence with Derby, Pulis told
The Sentinel the rumours were, "absolute rubbish".
Transfer search
Meanwhile, Pulis insists that his search for new signings has not stopped just because he is away from England.
"The search for new players certainly goes on this week, it stops for nothing," added Pulis.
"I'm on the end of a phone which the relevant people have. There is only a four-hour time difference, so being out here won't have any detrimental effect on business we are trying to do.
"It's only like being away in Austria on pre-season tour in the summer.
"Being in the mountains with only a few goats for company has never stopped me trying to wheel and deal, so why should being in Dubai?"
