Miguel Veloso has committed his future to Sporting Lisbon in the wake of recent speculation about a move to Manchester City or Bolton.
Reports have linked the 22-year-old with a move to the Premier League, with City mooted as potential suitors.
Recently, the Portuguese media suggested that Bolton were also lining up a bid for the Portuguese defensive midfielder. But Veloso has spoken out against these rumours.
"This news is unfortunate, because this is not true," he told Sporting's
official website.

"The fact that what is written is not true makes me very sad because I started at Sporting, it was Sporting that created me and I just have to thank Sporting for everything they have done for me.
"I believe it is an attempt at destabilisation, but both myself and the team are immune to this type of situation because we are only focused on the achievement of our objectives.
"I am happy at the Alvalade and I will continue to work to help the team achieve what we want. I am committed."
The club directors at Sporting have also been clear on their refusal to sell Veloso, stating that he is an important part of their bid for the Portuguese title and UEFA Champions League challenge.
