QPR striker Rowan Vine is closing in on a return to football, having been sidelined through injury for the last ten months.
The former Birmingham City man is yet to kick a ball this term after suffering a fracture of his tibia and fibula towards the back end of last season.
Vine has now had a second operation and the former Portsmouth striker hopes to be back in action just in time for the promotion run-in.
Going really well
"It is going really well at the moment having had the second operation and it has gone really well since then," he told
skysports.com.
"I've started rehab in the last few weeks, so it is looking positive for me to return to action this season.
"I'm hoping that next two weeks will be vital for me to get really up to speed and I am hoping to start playing some reserve games in February."
Looking good
The Hoops have done reasonably well in his absence and currently sit just three points off a play-off place, but Vine points to their away day woes as their Achilles heel and knows they need to improve their form away from Loftus Road if they are to maintain their promotion push.
"It is looking good at the moment and we had a great result against Derby, so if we keep picking up points away from home it will give us a real good chance this season," he continued.
"Our home form has been good for a number of seasons, but our away form seems to let us down, so if we can string a few wins on our travels together that should stand us in good stead come the end of the season.
"If I could come back and be part of that it would be great."
