Eagles look to keep Finnish hit-man

Crystal Palace have offered a new deal to striker Shefki Kuqi. Kuqi's current deal expires in the summer and he was widely expected to move on as Palace look to trim their wage bill. However, Kuqi has impressed for Palace in recent weeks and the Championship club have now offered him a one-year deal to extend his stay at Selhurst Park. Palace boss Neil Warnock admitted the offer was on less terms and that Kuqi is thinking over the deal. "We have offered him a new contract on less terms which he is currently thinking about," Warnock told the club's official website. "It's a one-year contract and as far as I am aware we have had no offers for him." Meanwhile, Palace have loaned out goalkeeper David Wilkinson to Blue Square South side Welling United. The 21-year-old shot-stopper will remain at the non-league outfit until the end of April.
