Juventus striker rules out international return
David Trezeguet has gone back on his plans to come out of international retirement, announcing that he will never play for France again.
The 31-year-old made the shock announcement to step back from the international scene despite admitting in December that he would be interested in playing for France once again.
Trezeguet, who retired from international football in July after Raymond Domenech was retained as France coach, now insists he has no desire to play for his country and has ruled out a possible return.
Back in training with Juventus after recovering from knee surgery in September, the French striker made clear that his relationship with Domenech was a deciding factor for him.
Over
"For me, Les Bleus, it's over for good," the 31-year-old told
France Football Magazine.
"During my injury, I've had time to think about it and analyse what happened during the last four years with Domenech.
"My decision is clear and irrevocable," he said.
Stressing his desire to continue playing domestic football for Juventus, Trezeguet added: "I am waiting for a sign from the coach.
"I can't say I'm at 100 per cent yet but I'm ready to play."
