Blackpool have signed Brett Ormerod following his departure from Preston earlier on Friday.
The 32-year-old striker left Deepdale by mutual consent to end a three-year spell with the club.
He now returns to Bloomfield Road after playing for the Seasiders earlier in his career.
Ormerod, who scored 45 goals in 105 appearances for Blackpool from 1997 to 2001, has agreed a deal until the end of the season.
He has also spent time with several other clubs including Southampton, Leeds, Wigan, Nottingham Forest and Oldham.
