Nott County have confirmed that they have extended the loan of defender Phil Picken until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old joined the club at the beginning of January from Chesterfield and has slotted in perfectly, playing six games in League Two for the Magpies.
Picken joined the Spireites in the summer of 2006 on a free transfer from Manchester United and has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the club.
The full-back only signed a new two-year contract with Chesterfield in June last year but with his one-month loan deal set to expire, County boss Ian McParland is delighted he could extend the player's stay.
"It's really good news for us," he told the
club's official website.
"Phil has performed well in every game he's played. He's a winner with a great attitude and is just the type of player I want at this football club.
"I'm sure he will continue to perform for us and I'm looking forward to working with him for the rest of the season."

Picken was equally delighted with the news after quickly settling into life at Meadow Lane.
"I couldn't be more pleased because even though our last two results have been disappointing, I'm really enjoying my time at Meadow Lane," he insisted.
Despite the club sitting in 14th place in the table, 13 points off the play-offs, the former Manchester United trainee still has eyes on a top seven finish.
"Notts County are capable of beating any team in this league, so hopefully we can string a few more wins together and climb into a play-off position," he added.
"The results seem to show that the lads have gelled pretty quickly, but we did drop a few points against Aldershot and Brentford, where we feel we should have won and I think those feelings prove that we have become a solid force in a short space of time."
