Hutton on trial after strong recommendation

Exeter City have taken Tottenham Hotspur teenager David Hutton on trial with a view to a loan deal. The winger will spend a week training with the League Two club and is pencilled in to play for the reserves next week. Grecians boss Paul Tisdale is keen to have a look at Hutton after receiving positive reports on the 19-year-old. "He is a talented young player who probably finds his opportunities at a Premier League club restricted," Tisdale told the Express and Echo. "We had very strong recommendations from Alex Inglethorpe and other members of the coaching team at Spurs. "So all the references we have had on him were very, very strong. It is the sort of player we should be looking at - building our club and increasing the squad with young, quality players. "He is with us for a week and there is an opportunity for him. He has got lots of options in his career so let's hope he fits in with us." Hutton links up with his Spurs team-mate Troy Archibald-Henville, who is on loan at St James Park until the end of the season.
