Lincoln City's Lee Frecklington is to hold talks with Peterborough over a possible transfer.
Jackson happy to let midfielder further his career
Lincoln City midfielder Lee Frecklington is to hold talks with Peterborough United over a possible move to the League One club.
Frecklington was linked with the Posh last year but he chose to commit to Lincoln and penned a two-year contract extension.
However, Peterborough have now renewed their interest in his services, and look poised to land the 23-year-old.
Imps boss Peter Jackson told the club's
official website: "Whilst it will be disappointing to lose Lee, I didn't want to stand in his way as this is a fantastic opportunity for him.
Replacement
"Peterborough came in for him last season but as they were in the same division as us he felt it wouldn't be the right move.
"But following their promotion last year and excellent start to this season, things have changed which makes this a great chance for him to further his career.
"Should the move go through, and I fully expect it to, then we will be getting some money in which will enable me to strengthen my squad both for the remainder of this season and next season.
"I'll be looking at options and could bring someone new in when the loan window re-opens (next week) but it will certainly give the likes of young Shane Clarke, who has never let us down, a chance to impress."
