Carles Puyol has been ruled out of Spain's international friendly with England on Wednesday.
The defender was replaced with 16 minutes remaining of Barcelona's 3-1 win over Sporting Gijon at the weekend with a leg injury.
Scans have revealed that Puyol, who only recently recovered from a muscle injury, is set for 10 days on the sidelines.
Euro 2008 winners Spain tackle England in Seville, and Puyol's absence could hand Barca team-mate Gerard Pique an opportunity to land his first cap for his country.
