Milan midfielder confident fellow Dutchman can succeed

AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf is confident that Guus Hiddink is the right man to turn around Chelsea's fortunes. The experienced coach was named as the new Blues boss on Wednesday and will take charge until the end of the season while maintaining his duties with the Russia national side. Seedorf played under the former PSV boss for Holland and during the one season his fellow countryman was in charge of Real Madrid in 1998/99. The 32-year-old believes Hiddink is the right man for the job and also gave his views on why Luiz Felipe Scolari was sacked. "It is very interesting. It's a pity it didn't work out for the former manager but that's part of football," he told Sky Sports News. "It's not very surprising given the relationship with him and the club.

Panicked

"I think the club were a bit worried about the Champions League for this year. He (Hiddink) has had very good results for the national team of Russia. "Luiz Felipe Scolari is a very good coach but the reason has to do with the Champions League and I think they (Chelsea) got a little nervous." Seedorf went on to reveal what the Chelsea players can expect of Hiddink and the kind of football the fans can expect to see at Stamford Bridge in the coming months. "He is a people manager," he added. "He can handle pressure and difficult situations, he can motivate and inspire the team. "We have never seen any negative football with Hiddink in his career. He will want to settle in and then look at the team from the inside and then decide what to play. "But attractive football, that's what he likes."
