Midfielder praises Becks' professionalism for closing in on record

AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has praised David Beckham's professionalism for closing in on Bobby Moore's 108 England caps. The former England skipper could equal the record for an outfield player in Wednesday's friendly in Seville where England will face Euro 2008 winners Spain. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star has been named on the bench for the clash but is expected to feature at some point. Many have questioned the legitimacy of the record with Beckham starting just one of his last five internationals under Fabio Capello, resulting in plenty of cameo appearances in his total number of caps. But his team-mate at Milan insists that the 33-year-old deserves the honour. "He worked very hard in Dubai and he came out of that beautifully and I'm very happy for him that he has played well," he told Sky Sports News. "It says a lot about him as a professional and as a player. I'm very happy for him because he is a hard worker. "I hope he goes to the World Cup and finishes his international career in the right way."
