Chinese international confident he can earn long-term deal

PSV Eindhoven's new signing Zhou Haibin is confident he can earn himself a long-term contract with the club. The 23-year-old has joined from Shandong Luneng on a free transfer, penning a one-year deal with the option of a two-year extension if he impresses. The midfielder has been capped 37 times by China, scoring three goals along the way, and although immensely popular back home, Haibin was criticised by some Shandong fans over the manner of his departure to Holland. Haibin is the second Chinese player to play for the Eredivisie side after defender Sun Xiang's unsuccessful spell in 2007. Although under no illusions of how tough it will be to break into the PSV side, Haibin remains confident. "PSV is a very strong team," he told Titan Sports. "Every player on the pitch showed their skill, passion and professionalism. "But I have confidence in myself. As long as I play my best game I will gel with the team and become a part of it. "The style of football and culture here are very different from China's. It will be a massive challenge for me to adjust to these changes, but I know I can settle in if I try my hardest."
