Watch the encounter live on Sky Sports 1 & HD 1 from 12pm

Sheffield United and Birmingham will both be battling for their promotion dreams when they meet at Bramall Lane on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1 & HD 1. Birmingham are currently second in the Championship, but are dangerously close to slipping out of the automatic promotion places. Sheffield United on the other hand are pushing hard to join the play-off pack and lie just one point off that goal in seventh place. To aid the Blades cause, boss Kevin Blackwell has the luxury of being able to choose from John-Joe O'Toole, Craig Beattie, Arturo Lupoli, Leigh Bromby and Jamie Ward as the clash approaches. All five players were cup-tied for the club's FA Cup tie with Hull after representing other teams earlier in the competition, but the quintet are now in contention for league duty. Brian Howard is likely to start once again for the home side despite having only recently returned from a hamstring injury, while crocked duo Matt Kilgallon and Nick Montgomery have a slim chance of involvement due to the importance of the match to United's promotion ambitions.

Birmingham news

Blues fans will expect nothing less than a win from their team, but boss Alex McLeish will have to do without midfield pairing Lee Bowyer and Sebastian Larsson who are both set to serve suspensions. Despite these blows to the midfield, captain Lee Carsley is once again an option for the starting XI after overcoming a minor neck strain. Defender Djimi Traore - who is yet to make an appearance for the club - has damaged his hamstring during a reserve game and will be unavailable for selection. Kevin Phillips continues his recovery from a hamstring injury and is still a week or two from being in contention, while Garry O'Connor is still suffering from a groin problem and faces a similar wait for a first team return. Subsequently, McLeish may look to the returning Cameron Jerome to lead the Birmingham attack in light of Scott Sinclair and Keith Fahey's profligacy in front of the Crystal Palace goal last week.
