United boss hails Argentinean after he scores opening two goals
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Carlos Tevez's display after he scored a brace to set the Red Devils on their way to a 4-0 FA Cup success at Fulham.
The Argentinean headed the opener in the 20th minute after Wayne Rooney had nodded on a corner.
He then scored a wonder goal in the 35th minute when he collected the ball near the half-way line and went on a mazy run to the edge of the Fulham box where he unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
Superb performance
"It was a superb performance, he has so much great energy," Ferguson said.
"He was a jack in the box all day."
The Red Devils went on to score two more goals in the second period via Rooney and Park Ji-Sung and Ferguson also hailed the performance of his team as a whole.
"Everyone was fit and fresh and bursting to play," Ferguson said.
"It was exciting right from the word go, with energy and enjoyment.
Tricky tie
"But it was a tricky tie, Fulham were in form and we had to respect that. The last thing we needed was a draw."
On a less positive note, defender Rio Ferdinand is a concern for the UEFA Champions League clash against Inter Milan on Wednesday after picking up an ankle injury in the game.
The England player was taken off at half-time and left Craven Cottage with a protective boot on his right foot.
Ferguson said: "Ferdinand is a bit of a concern. He went over on his ankle and I hope he is alright for Wednesday because he is so important to us."
