Gunners defender set to return after calf injury

Arsenal defender Kolo Toure has shaken off a calf injury to make himself available for the UEFA Champions League last-16 second leg against Roma. The 27-year-old picked up the injury in the 3-1 league win at West Brom last week and subsequently missed the weekend's FA Cup defeat of Burnley. But the Ivory Coast international flew out to the Italian capital with the rest of the squad on Tuesday and manager Arsene Wenger admitted he will come back into contention. Toure is likely to come in for Johan Djourou, who partnered William Gallas in his absence, while midfielders Samir Nasri and Denilson also look set for a recall after being rested against the Clarets. Arsenal take with them a slender 1-0 lead from the first leg at the Emirates two weeks ago and will be boosted by Toure's return.

No new injuries

Meanwhile the Gunners boss revealed that defender Mikael Silvestre had recovered from a thigh problem but has not travelled as he only returned to training on Monday. "From Sunday we have no new injuries," Wenger told the club's official website. "Kolo Toure should come back into the squad and should be fit to start. Samir Nasri and Denilson are in too. "Mikael Silvestre is available again too but he is not in the squad because he just came back yesterday."
