Arsenal boss delighted with 4-0 win over Blackburn

Arsene Wenger praised the performance of his Arsenal side following the 4-0 victory over Blackburn. The Gunners ended a run of three consecutive goalless draws at Emirates Stadium in the Premier League with a dominant display against stubborn opponents. Wenger is happy that his injury problems are beginning to clear up and believes Arsenal are now back to their best. "We are consistent at the moment, our flowing football is back and it was a convincing performance today," he told Sky Sports. "Our injured players are coming back so we can rotate a little bit, and those who came back today like (Theo) Walcott and (Andrey) Arshavin contributed so it is looking good."

Special

Russian playmaker Arshavin scored a wonderful goal to make it 2-0 and Wenger has paid tribute to his dribbling and finishing abilities. "It was special," said Wenger. "When he is in the box with the ball at his feet he is a danger because he is short and quick and it was a great finish with a short back-lift." Wenger was especially pleased with the attitude of his players as Arsenal climbed back to fourth above Aston Villa, who face Tottenham on Sunday. Asked how difficult the match was, Wenger replied: "In the first half (it was hard). In the second half we changed our organisation a bit and played higher up the pitch and from then on it was all us. "This team has a great spirit and I am sure we will fight until the last minute of the season to get as high as we can."
Almunia concern
It was not quiet a perfect afternoon for Wenger as goalkeeper Manuel Almunia picked up a knock during a clash with El-Hadji Diouf. The Blackburn striker was booked for lunging at Almunia and Wenger thinks perhaps he should have been sent off. He said: "I have to see it again but I do not feel he had a chance to play the ball at the time and I am concerned about our keeper because he has a sprained ankle and we will have to see how he responds tomorrow."
