Match called off after floodlight failure

Monday night's game between Dagenham & Redbridge and Brentford has been postponed due to floodlight failure. The League Two clash was scheduled to begin at 7.45pm, but the kick-off was delayed after a loss of power. It was hoped that the match might still have gone ahead, but it has now been confirmed the game will be re-arranged for another date. Referee Lee Probert told Sky Sports: "Sadly the game has had to be postponed. The sub-station away from the ground has gone down. They tried to get the electricians on, but they can't get to the sub-station in time. "I spoke with both managers, the police and the safety officers, and I am afraid the game had to be postponed." Brentford are currently top of the table while Dagenham sit six points off the play-off places. "We're disappointed. It was a big game because of TV and who we were playing so we're absolutely devastated," said Dagenham boss John Still. Brentford boss Andy Scott added: "There was nothing they could do about it. "It is just a big disappointment for us and for Dagenham as well."
