Arsene Wenger says Arsenal have a '50-50' chance of defeating Champions League opponents Villarreal.
Gunners boss admits European tie could go either way
Arsene Wenger believes that Arsenal have a '50-50' chance of advancing past UEFA Champions League opponents Villarreal.
The Gunners are set to lock horns with the Primera Division outfit in the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Tuesday.
Wenger's side have put together an impressive run of form of late but, having not won a trophy since 2005, are not considered the favourites to lift Europe's showpiece trophy.
The Frenchman concedes the clash versus the Yellow Submarine could go either way but is optimistic of progressing to the semi-finals.
"I really think it's a 50-50 match," said Wenger. "We are super-outsiders to win the Champions League because when you look at the bookmakers, we are not in there.
"The favourites are Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona. It puts a little less pressure on you but, once you are on the pitch, it doesn't change too much."
Walcott worry
Wenger has also spoken of his worry for pacey attacker Theo Walcott after the youngster came in for some strong challenges in last weekend's 2-0 victory over Manchester City, having just recovered from a knee injury.
"He looks worried, yes," said Wenger. "I believe that is because he had a strange injury the first time with a lot of blood in his knee.
"When he got kicked there again he still has a feeling of discomfort. All the scans have been reassuring."
Wenger continued: "I always worry about that when the guys are quick. Don't let them run - it is like a car when it starts - you stop it before it gets to full pace.
"He has more direct play and he gives you spaces because he is pushing defenders back. I believe it is down to me to rotate well and not to over-use the players."
