Charlton chief not surprised if star is attracting interest

Charlton boss Phil Parkinson has played down rumours linking Nicky Bailey with a move to Birmingham. Bailey has been one of Charlton's bright spots in a disappointing season for the Championship strugglers. The former Southend midfielder has scored 11 goals for Charlton this term with reports suggesting Birmingham are lining up a move for Bailey. Parkinson admits he is not surprised to hear Bailey being linked with other clubs, but insists no-one has made any contact for the 24-year-old. "I was as surprised as anyone to read the reports about Nicky," Parkinson told the South London Press. "I wouldn't be surprised if there are more rumours like that over the coming weeks because he's had an exceptional season. Nicky has scored goals and that obviously attracts attention."
