Gunners striker certain he is at the right club for silverware

Emmanuel Adebayor has explained that he chose to stay at Arsenal because he was sure he could achieve at the club. The Togo international was strongly linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium last summer, with Barcelona and AC Milan said to be interested in his services. However, Adebayor put pen-to-paper on a new long-term deal, and he insists he has not looked back since, as the club embark on a season-defining week that sees them take on Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League and then Chelsea in the FA Cup. "I never said I would leave, people said that on my behalf. I'm very happy at Arsenal and that is the reason why I stayed because I know with this team I can achieve things," said Adebayor. "I know we've had a difficult season in the Premier League, but we're still in the Champions League, still in the FA Cup and that's fantastic. "It's been difficult with all the problems - (Alexander) Hleb going to Barcelona, Mathieu Flamini going to Milan - and everything was struggling a little bit. Are we going to buy or not? All these things, myself going or staying." He added: "I've been here three years and saying we have to win things and achieve things, and now I think it is a real chance to win something because we are in the semi-finals of the FA Cup and quarter-final of the Champions League. We just have to stand up and go for it."
