Saints star happy to stay and help promotion push next term
Andrew Surman has no desire to leave Southampton this summer, but accepts the choice may not be his.
The cash-strapped Saints will be playing in League One next season and may need to part with their more saleable assets.
That includes England U21 international midfielder Surman, who has been attracting attention from the Premier League for some time.
The youngster insists he is happy to remain on the South Coast, though, and is prepared to help the Saints' promotion push.
He accepts that the club will need to find a buyer in order to be competitive next term, but is optimistic regarding his chances of still being at St Mary's at the end of the summer transfer window.
"I love being at Southampton and I've been here since I was 10 years old, so obviously I don't want to leave," Surman told the club's
official website.
"It's a difficult situation which will only become clearer when a takeover is in place, so we'll be able to move forward then."
